What is Blind Rugby

Blind Rugby New Zealand is responsible for overseeing the day to day running and development of Blind Rugby in New Zealand. As Blind Rugby is New Zealand's newest Blind Sport we are still finding our feet so our biggest focus at present is growing the game at a grassroots level.

Blind Rugby was official launched internationally in 2017 where the Blind Lions toured New Zealand in a 3 test match launch of the game. Since then, it has been our responsibility to grow the sport. At present we have 3 regions active in Blind Rugby and the number is growing.

Our key focus is Blind member participation within regions towards our domestic competition while also engaging with international bodies for international competition.
